The 5.5-liter V8 remains front-mid-mounted and dry-sump lubricated, but receives sharpened mapping and a more direct throttle response for each of the three driving programs: C, S, and M. The screw-type turbocharger delivers up to 0.9 bar of boost, and two water-cooled intercoolers stabilize the intake air. The AMG Speedshift automatic transmission shifts noticeably faster in manual mode. The result: more power across the entire rev range and measurably improved acceleration figures while maintaining full everyday usability.

Targeted aero refinement for greater stability and more precise turn in. A front carbon splitter, optimised underbody, and adaptive rear wing increase downforce without unnecessarily adding drag. Noticeably calmer at high speed and predictable at the limit.

Perfection in the details. Around 100 hours in the wind tunnel delivered a tangible aerodynamic gain. The carbon splitter significantly increases downforce on the front axle, while small wheel spoilers calm the airflow at the rear. From 120 km/h, the rear wing automatically adopts a steeper angle and, under heavy braking, acts as an air brake. Combined with the lowered suspension (minus 10 mm) and 19-inch forged wheels with a larger 390 mm front brake setup, this improves precision, directional stability, and deceleration. The rear spoiler operates in multiple stages and adjusts automatically. From 95 km/h, it increases its angle of attack by around ten degrees to boost rear-axle downforce. Under strong braking, it rises to roughly 65 degrees, functions as an air brake, and shifts the aerodynamic balance rearwards.

The instrument cluster remains uncluttered, complemented by an AMG race timer. The steering wheel and controls are wrapped in grippy velour. The craftsmanship remains at the SLR level, but the overall feel is noticeably sportier.
