When people meet who share the same passion, a glance is often enough. With the SLR, that spark becomes a conversation. Few other cars stir so many emotions. This passion is the lifeblood of SLR.CLUB, as exclusive as the car itself.
It was 2002. The Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo. Long before the official world premiere at the IAA, at a time when the supercar was still known as the “Vision SLR”.
Here, fans and “Carte Blanche” buyers of the SLR meet for a kind of blind date, to catch a first glimpse of this incredible vehicle concept.
A good year later, the first meeting took place at the test track in Idiada, Spain. This close-knit group enjoyed the exclusive privilege of experiencing prototypes of their vehicle in the wild for the first time, under the guidance of motorsport professionals.

Since its founding on 8 July 2006 in Le Castellet, SLR.CLUB has been defined by connection and a passion for the most beautiful shared cause in the world: the Mercedes-Benz SLR.
Every SLR owner became a member of SLR.CLUB. A small, exclusive circle of gentleman drivers. And each member contributes their personality, wishes, ideas, and ambitions to club life and the community.

Schon seit Anbeginn hatte Mercedes-Benz die Kunden aktiv in die Entwicklung der Supersportwagen mit einbezogen. Und diese Haltung wird auch beim SLR konsequent weitergelebt. So hatten die Kunden eines SLR Stirling Moss beispielsweise die Möglichkeit, sich aktiv vom Tonmodell bis hin zur ersten Testfahrt im Prototypen in die Entwicklung des Fahrzeuges mit einzubringen.
Folgerichtig bat Mercedes-Benz 2009 den SLR.CLUB und seine Mitglieder um aktive Mitgestaltung. Michael Egger, Clemens van den Berg, Fritz Steinman, Andreas Prahl und Aloyse Wagner – allesamt aktive Club-Mitglieder und leidenschaftliche SLR-Fahrer – gestalteten und entwickelten den Club in den folgenden acht Jahren aktiv und sehr erfolgreich mit.
With the founding meeting on 10 September 2017, SLR.CLUB was handed over to SLR owners and recognised as an official Mercedes-Benz brand club.
The name: Mercedes-Benz SLR.CLUB e.V.
This ensures that SLR.CLUB remains an exceptional circle that can rely on continued engagement and support from the Mercedes-Benz board.
